<>TOP-OF-THE-LINE QUALITY AT A BOTTOM-LINE PRICE: If you don’t know the Ocean Alexander name, it's a step up from an Albin and two steps up from a Marine Trader, yet it’s priced about the same as its corner-cutting rivals. ONE-OF-A-KIND: The best thing about this trawler is its “one-of-a-kind,” Ed Monk design, superior to any other in its class. It has 4 possible cabins, not the typical 3, plus the HUGE FLY BRIDGE is designed like a pontoon boat, with seating around the edge for 16 adults. FUEL EFFICIENT: The fuel sipping Lehman burns around 1.5 gallons an hour. Though the boat is 44' long, that's about the same fuel consumption as a 34', but it’s much more seaworthy and comfortable than the smaller trawler. “BAHAMAS READY” FOR OFFSHORE CRUSING: The boat has just been to the Dominican Republic and back, and its set up for long-term cruising, with lots of spare parts, extra prop, etc. We wouldn't hesitate to head back to the Bahamas tomorrow with it. We were the envy of the Bahamas most of the time, with the ample storage, appliances and interior space. Cosmetically the boat could use some paint and buffing. ROOMY, GALLEY-UP DESIGN: Unlike most boats in its class with their small U-shaped, galley-down kitchens, this one is an L-shaped galley-up, bright and airy, with lots of counter space. In fact, I have been in homes with less counter space than this boat. The settee table expands to 5’ and seats 6-8 adults comfortably. Galley includes: 3-burner stove, double-sink, large fridge, huge freezer, and washer/dryer,plus there’s an icemaker, and a BBQ upstairs. FOUR CABINS make comfortable sleeping for 6-8 adults. The Captain’s State Room has a walk-around queen-size bed and plenty of storage in the aft. Forward are two State Rooms with Pullman beds, and there’s a convertible bed in the settee in the salon. There are 2 full baths. ELECTRONICS: The boat has lots of redundancy including 2 depth finders, a Garmin chart plotter and a Furuno GPS Navigator, two VHF radios, a 24mile radar, rear view TV, ST7000 Autohelm, Weather Station, Ship’s Clock and two 10CD player/radio (one for the galley and one for the flybridge). ENGINE ROOM: The engine room is clean and well maintained with records. There’s a 120hp Lehman, 8kw Northern Lights generator, recently replaced house battery bank, new water heater, 3-stage Racor fuel filter and GF-1 fuel polisher, fresh and saltwater pumps, oil change pumps, two A/C units and more.
